Retired health insurance executive
Led a division of 250 employees as senior vice president and chief financial officer at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota from 1998 to 2007. His responsibilities included oversight of financial planning and budgeting, financial reporting and internal audits. Under his leadership, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota enhanced performance measurement to support and guide business decisions, improved budgeting discipline and accountability, and refined its cost accounting processes.
Prior to joining Blue Cross, Mr. Peterson had a 30 year career with Ernst & Young, with whom he retired as a Partner in 1998.
A certified public accountant, Mr. Peterson earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting at Millikin University, Illinois.
