Dr. Janet Lindemann

​​​​​​​​​Janet Lindemann, M.D., M.B.A., is a professor of family medicine and dean of medical student education at the University of South Dakota’s Sanford School of Medicine. ​

Dr. Lindemann, originally from Hales Corners, graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran High School in Milwaukee and Marquette University; and earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. She completed her residency in Waukesha and served on the faculty of the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Dr. Lindemann and her family moved to South Dakota in 1997. She later completed her M.B.A. in health care management at the University of Sioux Falls.

Her honors include being named Family Medicine Educator of the Year by the Wisconsin Academy of Family Physicians. She serves on the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, the group that accredits medical schools in the U.S. and Canada. Her published work has focused on medical education, especially in the areas of ambulatory education, educator's portfolios and professionalism.
