We structure our didactic programs along a traditional model, albeit with one significant difference, that of an 'Integrated Curriculum' in which Core Lectures, MedStudy, MKSAP and Outpatient Clinic 'Article of the Week' all follow a common theme.
Core Curriculum Lectures – 12:15 to 1 p.m.; Wednesday, Thursday
A blend of classic lectures on Internal Medicine topics mixed with Integrated Curriculum Conferences.
Learning parallels how you will practice: working in conjunction with radiology, surgical specialties, pharmacists and others in a multidisciplinary approach.
Morning Report – 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
The mainstay remains case-based learning. This varies from a team presenting a case from medical service to a case from ambulatory clinic, or a subspecialty case.
Friday Morning 'Potpourri' – 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.; Friday
'Low key' learning opportunities in an interactive setting.
Potpourri may include: MKSAP sessions, Medical Jeopardy, Journal Club, Morbidity and Mortality or an "ICU Case of the Month."
Grand Rounds – Noon to 1 p.m.; Friday
A mix of internationally-renowned experts and Marshfield Clinic faculty present state-of-the-art updates on a variety of topics with global appeal.
Intern Survival Skills – July - August, weekly
PGY1 residents gather to discuss common Internal Medicine issues.
Board Review - Offered 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at a minimum of 1-2 monthly with an increase by spring
Residents as Teachers (RATS) – 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m.; Bimonthly
