 Post-Doctoral Psychology Outcome Data

A primary goal of the program is to prepare the fellow to bring a depth of knowledge, skills and experience to their future job and contributions in the field of psychology. Fellows accomplish a number of milestones on the way to this outcome.

Milestones, depending on whether doing a one-year or two-year fellowship, include: passing the EPPP; becoming licensed in Wisconsin; completing the professional statement and work sample for the ABPP application; completing a scholarly project suitable for poster presentation or manuscript submission; and, successfully performing in a nearly autonomous manner in specialty clinics and medical units on which they were trained.

The program and faculty incorporate these milestones in the seminar series, supervision, clinical instruction and patient care. Supervision is provided in initially close and frequent contact to develop a mentoring relationship with primarily two faculty, then tapering as the fellow demonstrates competence to function in an increasingly autonomous role.
