Employee Giving

Gifts from employees of Marshfield Clinic have a great impact on supporting our mission of high quality, accessible patient care, research and education.  These gifts demonstrate to our patients and the communities we serve that our dedication to the mission extends beyond just providing quality care.

Each year, employees are invited to make a gift through Project Shine.  In 2012, those gifts totaled almost $200,000.  Many of those dollars were made available for grants to support needs identified by employees throughout the Clinic system.
Some examples of projects funded through employee donations include:
  • Blanket warmers so while patients are receiving care will be more comfortable.
  • Water test kits to test well water for fluoride to help reduce cavities.
  • Bike helmets for the Chippewa Center Bike Rodeo to help reduce injuries.
  • Books for Reach Out and Read to encourage children to read at a young age.
  • Published "Coping with a Cancer Diagnosis" so patients will be more informed and help them through to survivorship.
  • iPads to be used by children with Autism during their visit to help communicate more effectively.
  • Resource books to parents with children who have ADD/ADHD to help them understand and manage their child's  ADHD.
  • "Children Conquering Cancer" annual survivor picnic to help over 30 families network and share support.
  • Activity and magnetic tables for children to use prior to their appointment to help reduce anxiety.
  • Pediatric Tube Feeding Binders to parents so they are better prepared to feed their child at home.
  • Small take home toys that are given to a child to distract them during the many unfriendly treatments they receive such as IV insertion, catheterization or immunization.

Thank you to our 2012 Project Shine donors, with special thanks to our Hour Club members who have contributed an amount equal to or exceeding one hour's pay per pay period!
