Our surgical faculty is thoroughly committed to residents' teaching. All faculty considers teaching an integral part of their job, and residents may count on daily one-on-one interaction with surgical faculty.
We believe that having a surgical faculty with different surgical backgrounds and experiences enhances our goal of providing excellent, well-balanced training to our residents.
One attending physician expressed the sentiments of many:
"I like to teach because it allows me to keep up with new innovative research and medical changes, along with changes in modern technology. The challenge of balancing teaching and practice responsibilities would make it easy for me not to teach if I didn't like being around the residents."
He added that the residency program was a major factor in drawing him to practice at Marshfield Clinic.
