“I’m here to help my patients get back to enjoying the tasks that they did before experiencing their pain or injury.”
Physical therapy is successfully used in treating different medical disorders including neurological and muscular illnesses, as well as injuries. “I see a wide array of patients from those who have injured themselves in a fall to post-operative care to joint aches/pains that begin from no specific reason,” says Erik Smith.
Erik Smith, a physical therapist, started his career with Marshfield Clinic in 2010. He works with all ages to provide patient care, primarily at the Eau Claire Physical Therapy Center. His special interests include general orthopedic and sports medicine.
As a graduate of Clarke College in Dubuque, IA with a doctorate of physical therapy, Erik chose Marshfield Clinic because of its impressive reputation. “When I was working on my undergraduate degree at UW-Eau Claire, I became familiar with Marshfield Clinic. It’s one of the top medical providers in the area,” he says.
His undergraduate degree is Kinesiology, the study of human movement, with an emphasis of exercise science, and he has also completed Certification for Advanced 3-D Treatment of Scoliosis According to the Principles of C.L. Schroth through the Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School.
In his spare time, Erik loves to hunt, spend time with his family, enjoy the outdoors and cheer on the Packers.
