Cardiologist Dr. Shereif Rezkalla treats heart disease and conditions such as inflamation.


He has an extensive background in clinical practice, education and research, which he puts to use in treating conditions throughout the cardiovascular system.

He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology and cardiovascular computed tomography.

After earning his medical degree in Egypt, he completed his residency in internal medicine in the United States at Wayne State University Hospitals in Detroit, Michigan. At the same university, he completed fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology.

Dr. Rezkalla was the first physician to discover a successful treatment for inflammation of the heart, publishing a paper on the subject in Circulation in 1989. He has continued research throughout his more than 20-year career at Marshfield Clinic Health System, during which he has also served as a clinical professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.

He has authored chapters in many textbooks, and articles in medical journals published throughout the United States and Europe.

He holds membership in the American College of Physicians, and the American College of Cardiology.
