“It’s gratifying to establish relationships
with patients and their families, and
following up with their care.”
Dr. Kristin Cutlan said she decided to
be a pediatrician after going through a
pediatrics rotation in medical school.
“I like the honesty of children, which I
find refreshing, and I like their energy
and sense of happiness,” she said.
“Pediatrics is a fun place to work and I
really try to make the doctor visits and
hospital stays less frightening.” She also
likes helping patients avoid health problems
by concentrating on important health
care milestones such as examinations
and immunizations.
Dr. Cutlan said that practicing at Marshfield
Clinic Health System gives her the
opportunity to treat a wide range of
cases, from routine to complex. “One
of the advantages of being here is that
there are so many resources at your fingertips,” she pointed out. The Clinic was also conveniently located in a smaller
community in the same state as her parents,
in Cuba City in southwest Wisconsin,
and her husband’s parents in Manitowoc.
She earned her medical degree at
the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. She completed her residency at the University of Michigan Medical Center, Ann Arbor. She is board-certified in pediatrics.
She and her husband, Dr. Jonathan Cutlan
of the Clinic’s Lab-Pathology department,
have two children. She enjoys gardening, hiking, walking, bicycling and simply enjoying her young children.
