“I truly believe in respect and compassion
for the patient and their families and a
strong patient-provider relationship.”
Dr. Juan Mesa is an interventional cardiologist, specializing in catheter based treatment of heart disease and valvular heart disease.
This includes placing valves or stents inside the heart to treat a damaged heart valve or clogged arteries.
“I’m proud to say that when it comes to complex coronary intervention, Marshfield Clinic Health System performs as well as anyone else in the country,” said Mesa. He adds Marshfield Medical Center has state of the art technology, meaning patients can trust their heart care to our team.
“The first meeting with a patient is so important in building the trust of the patient and their family,” said Mesa. “The more difficult and complex problems the patient has, the better the relationship with the patient has to be.”
Dr. Mesa joined Marshfield Clinic Health System in 2000. He earned his medical degree from Pontificia University in his home country of Columbia. After completing his internship and residency in Columbia, he completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Oschner Clinic.
Dr. Mesa and his wife have been married more than 25 years, and have three children. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing soccer, biking and getting into the outdoors.
