Dr. J. Barbara Mroz began her medical practice with Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center in 2001. As a specialist in internal medicine, Dr. Mroz diagnoses and treats a variety of acute and chronic medical conditions in adults in all stages of their lives.
She has special interest in osteoporosis, women’s health, gastrointestinal problems and alternative medicine. She also is medical director for Minocqua Center’s Health Management Resources (HMR®) Weight Management Program, which supports weight loss through lifestyle changes and meal replacements.
Dr. Mroz is passionate about working together with patients to come up with a solution to their medical problems. “I am your partner - we work as a team to help you live a long and healthy life,”Dr. Mroz said. This statement echoes her collaborative approach to treatment.
A native of Cracow, Poland, Dr. Mroz completed medical school at Jagiellonian University Medical Academy in Cracow, Poland. She stayed in the city to finish her residency in internal medicine at Pope John Paul II Hospital, but then continued her residency training at
La Guardia Hospital/North Shore University in Forest Hills, New York.
Dr. Mroz holds a certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine, and is a member of the American College of Physicians and Wisconsin Medical Society. She is licensed to practice medicine in Wisconsin and New York.
When she’s not working, Dr. Mroz enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter. She also is a voracious reader. Her top picks include science fiction and detective books. In addition, Dr. Mroz enjoys travel and likes to keep up with the headlines in international politics.
