| Formed in 2019, the
Central Wisconsin Partnership for Recovery (CWPR), is a consortium of more than 44 members from at least 24 different organizations in Clark and Wood Counties, who have come together with the mission to create awareness and work together to reduce the prevalence of substance use disorders through prevention, treatment, and recovery programming for those living in central Wisconsin. CWPR’s vision is to create a sustainable environment of awareness and support for everyone affected by substance use disorder. The full CWPR meets on a regular basis.

CWPR has four priority areas – (1) targeted youth programming, (2) jail discharge planning, (3) safe and sober housing, and (4) increased access to peer recovery support services. Learn more about each priority below and

Targeted Youth Programming
Provide social emotional learning curriculum support and substance use disorder prevention resources to school districts, and prevention resources and training to school districts and agencies in Clark and Wood County. A Youth Programming workgroup meets regularly to support related activities.
Major Targeted Youth Programming activities include:
Providing support for a Clark County Sheriff's Deputy to serve as a School Resource Officer in Clark County schools.
Developing a
menu of resources for school districts, including prevention curriculum, training for district staff, and technical assistance (e.g., curriculum research).

Jail Discharge Planning
Support the Jail Discharge Planner employed at Wood County Human Services in partnership with the Wood County Sheriff’s Department to serve justice-involved individuals to engage in treatment and recovery support services upon release from incarceration.
Major Jail Discharge Planning activities include:
Identifying and connecting the Wood County Jail Discharge Planner with resources to support individuals upon release from incarceration.
Developing an evaluation plan for Wood County Jail Discharge Planner program to assess its value.

Safe and Sober Housing
Implement an adapted version of the
Hunger & Poverty Prevention Partnership of Portage County RentReady Program to support individuals in sustained recovery from substance use disorder in Clark and Wood County to secure safe and sober housing in the region. A Safe and Sober Housing workgroup meets monthly to support related activities.
Major Safe and Sober Housing activities include:
Partnering with landlords, housing agencies, and interested others in Clark and Wood counties to identify potential candidates and housing options.
Creating a network of partners to support individuals in recovery as they move from transitional to permanent housing.
Providing program candidates with peer support, financial literacy education, household items, resources, and ongoing support before and during their first year lease.

Increased Access to Peer Recovery Support Services
Expand access to peer support professionals with lived experience in recovery from substance use disorder to provide supportive services and increase recovery support in the workplace through the Recovery Supportive Workplace program. The Peer Support workgroup meets regularly to support related activities.
Major Peer Support activities include:
Increasing the number of peer support providers (recovery coaches and/or peer specialists) trained and employed.
Developing a Recovery Supportive Workplace program to support existing and potential employees in recovery and the businesses at which they are employed.
