Quality Projects and Partnerships

Marshfield Clinic Health System is committed to investing in quality improvement projects and partnerships that will improve the quality of care for all patients.

Projects

  • Marshfield Clinic Health System was selected as one of 10 physician group practices nationwide to participate in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Demonstration Project, an effort designed to provide better quality care for our patients while reducing health care costs.
  • Marshfield Clinic Health System offers three care management programs to help patients better manage chronic disease. Between office visits, care management nurses contact patients to help monitor patients’ health status and provide education about their disease.
  • The Institute of Medicine identified six aims of quality health care. These aims are built around the core beliefs that health care should be safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable. Marshfield Clinic Health System has adopted these aims to help us fulfill our mission of serving patients through accessible, high quality health care
  • Improvements in health information technology and applications give providers additional tools to help manage and improve the care patients receive at Marshfield Clinic Health System.

Partnerships

  • Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality (WCHQ): As a founding member of WCHQ, a voluntary group of quality improvement-driven health care organizations, the Clinic and nemerous health care organizations from around the state work together to improve health care and lower cost for all people. WCHQ members also publicly report their performance on a set of quality measures.
  • Institute for Clinical Systems Improvement (ICSI): To further improve the high quality of health care it provides to its patients, Marshfield Clinic Health System joined the ICSI, a group of nearly 8,000 physician members and 62 health care organizations. The mission of ICSI, and all of its membership organizations, including Marshfield Clinic Health System, is to champion the cause of health care quality and to accelerate improvement in the value of the health care delivered to the patients we serve.
