"As a physical therapist, I work with patients who, either through an injury or disease has lost some ability to function in their daily lives," explains Mary Repking, a physical therapist at Marshfield Clinic Merrill Center. "My goal is to help restore strength, flexibility and range of motion to enable them to enjoy the highest quality of life possible."

She treats joint related problems with special interest and expertise in shoulder, knee, foot/ankle and elderly balance issues. As a certified strength and conditioning specialist, Mary helps patients and athletes of all ages improve their abilities (from lifting a laundry basket to throwing a ball).

Mary feels that a holistic approach, looking at the way the muscles and joints work together, is an important aspect of her success with patients. "Joints do not work in isolation. The bones along with the muscles, ligaments, and the nerves need to work in unison to allow normal motion in the human body. I want to treat the cause, not just the symptoms, so I can reduce the likelihood the problem will return."

Mary enjoys photography, gardening, and numerous sports. She and her family are actively involved in baseball both coaching and playing the game.

Mary earned her degree in physical therapy at the University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse.
