“When a child walks into the room, my goal is to make that child happy and successful.”

Provider Bio down arrow

As a pediatric rheumatologist, Dr. Suhas Ganguli takes care of children with rare autoimmune and connective tissue diseases such as arthritis, lupus and vasculitis.

“Individually these diseases are quite rare, but collectively we have a lot of children in our communities who suffer from these conditions,” said Dr. Ganguli.

These are very complex diseases to diagnose and require building enduring relationships with the families, which is why he was drawn to this specialty while completing his pediatric residency in Kolkata, India.

“The procedure for arriving at a diagnosis involves a very thorough history and physical exam,” said Dr. Ganguli.

These diseases affect more than one system in the body, which is why he believes in patient reported outcomes. Dr. Ganguli is interested in his patient’s perspective on how the diseases impact their lives. Ultimately the patient and their families are the most important member of the care team.

“I would hope that the patient and family see me as a partner in their care,” said. Dr. Ganguli. “I would like to be one of the first people they reach out to for any concern related to their disease.”

He completed his fellowship in pediatric rheumatology at Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New York and his pediatric residency at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in Queens, New York.

Dr. Ganguli is married, and likes to spend his free time watching movies, reading fiction, swimming and traveling.
