“It’s an honor to serve my patients and
work with them to improve their quality
of life.”
Dr. Erica Larson knew she wanted to be a psychiatrist from early on in her medical training.
“I just really enjoyed hearing people’s stories and spending time to get to know people,” she said. “I chose child psychiatry because I have always had a passion for treating kids.”
She sees a broad range of patients including those with mood issues, developmental concerns, disruptive behaviors and anxiety. Her approach to care is to always put patients first and make sure she really listens to their concerns.
The best part of work for Dr. Larson is the opportunity to meet so many neat young people.
“Children have fascinating lives,” she said. “I’m really just honored that they come in and let me be a part of their lives.”
Dr. Larson earned her medical degree at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She also completed a residency in psychiatry and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Michigan State.
She enjoys relaxing with family, traveling, reading and spending time outdoors. She is married with two children.
