Bradley D. Groseth will serve as chief administrative officer for Lakeview Medical Center (LMC), Rice Lake, beginning April 28.
LMC is a nonprofit, 40-bed regional hospital serving northwest Wisconsin that became a Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) entity in 2008.
Groseth replaces interim CAO Jackie Klein, who assumed this position from Ned Wolf, now CAO at MCHS's Marshfield hospital.
"I'm excited to welcome Brad to our system and his extensive experience in complex integrated system settings will serve him – and our patients – very well in his new role," said Dan Ramsey, chief operating officer, MCHS. "He has a strong patient care focus and extensive experience working with physician leaders."
Most recently, Groseth was vice president of Operations-Northwest Wisconsin for Mayo Clinic Health System, Eau Claire. Since 2007, he provided strategic leadership to multiple regional departments with over 125 providers spanning five hospitals and 14 clinical locations. He also was regional administrator/CAO for Barron Area Medical Center, Luther Midelfort-Mayo Health System, from 2001-07; and prior to that was regional administrator/CAO for Osseo Area Medical Center, Osseo.
"I've been in progressive roles for the past 22 years and this was an opportunity for a broader level of experience, to work in an integrated system with a hospital, clinic and strong health plan, which is unique in our area," Groseth said. "A fully integrated model is needed for improving patient care, lowering costs and increasing value."
He also sees his role as "servant-leader, to help people become more successful in their roles, from staff to providers. We're in a service organization and it's all about relationships and taking time to develop relationships is key."
Groseth is no stranger to the Rice Lake area, having worked in the area and lived in Rice Lake. "We have many ties to the community and it will be great to be back."
A native of Eau Claire, he earned a bachelor's degree in health care administration from University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and a master of health administration-hospital and health administration degree from University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management, Minneapolis. In addition, Groseth is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
LMC, Marshfield Clinic Rice Lake Center and the Family Health Center of Marshfield, Inc., dental center in Rice Lake comprise this regional medical campus. Earlier this year, LMC was named a 2017 Truven Health 100 Top Hospitals® award winner, having also received the honor in 2016.
