Marshfield Clinic leaders are pleased with Marshfield Common Council’s decision tonight, Jan. 26, to approve conditional use permits for construction of the Clinic’s new hospital.
The approval, which followed Marshfield Plan Commission’s recommendation last week for the permits, allows the Clinic to move forward with its plans to break ground on its new 200-bed hospital this spring.
“Marshfield Clinic staff worked closely with City leaders the past few months to make sure our project plans met all City policies and codes,” Marshfield Clinic Executive Director Dr. Narayana Murali said. “We kept city leaders apprised of our plans so we can construct a hospital that is an asset for this community.”
The Clinic is moving forward with its next steps in the planning phase before construction begins. Clinic leaders are open to continued discussions with its health care partners.
“For nearly 100 years, Marshfield Clinic has provided world-class care in this community,” Murali said. “This hospital represents our commitment to Marshfield and patients from across Wisconsin that they will receive the health care services they have come to expect in this city.”
Marshfield Clinic provides patient care, research and education with more than 50 locations in northern, central and western Wisconsin, making it one of the largest comprehensive medical systems in the United States.
