ELIGIBILITY
Starting Out is open to all artists over the age of 18, working in both two and three dimensional media, who currently attend a Wisconsin University.
Student artists working in media such as painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, fine crafts (such as ceramics or glass), batik, metals, fiber, photography, etc. are all encouraged to enter.
All styles of work are considered. Works shown in previous exhibits at New Visions Gallery will not be accepted.
SPECIFICATIONS
Artists may enter up to FOUR works for consideration. Work should not exceed 150 pounds. No one dimension should exceed 80 inches.
Wall hung work must be framed and ready for hanging with a sawtooth or wire hanger attached to the piece. Works on paper should be glazed and Plexiglas is recommended; New Visions Gallery and Marshfield Clinic will not be responsible for glass breakage.
Works valued at over $5,000 cannot be considered or accepted. The gallery reserves the right at all times to exclude any work that presents complex exhibit problems or is not prepared for exhibit.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Selection will be made from digital images. Artists should submit images and information for the actual work they propose to exhibit by the due date via the online Artist Entry Form. There is no entry fee.
JURORS
Works for the exhibition will be selected by a panel of jurors. Decision of the group regarding acceptance into the exhibit is final.
SALES
Work need not be for sale to be eligible for the exhibit. The gallery will make every effort to encourage the sale of work available for purchase and will retain a 35% commission of sales made as a result of the exhibit.
CONSIGNMENT AGREEMENT
The exhibit’s Consignment Agreement is the governing document for all works on exhibit. Artists whose work has been accepted are required to return the completed Consignment Agreement paperwork, which includes: Display and Consignment Agreement, Inventory Form and W-9 by the due date to participate in the exhibit.
ELECTRONIC CATALOG & PUBLICITY
New Visions Gallery will publish an electronic exhibit catalog online via our website. Submission of a digital image by the artist constitutes agreement for the gallery to reproduce the work for website, publicity and educational purposes.
SHIPPING & RECEIVING
Artists are responsible for dropping off/picking up work or shipping to and from the gallery. Return shipping and shipping insurance is the responsibility of the artist.
The gallery will pack the work in the same crate in which it was received; make sure your packaging can survive two shipments. If your work has special packaging requirements, include detailed instructions in the crate.
Please refrain from gluing shipping materials and from using packing peanuts. As we are not a pickup point for UPS, all return shipping must be in the form of either a prepaid Federal Express or US Mail return label.
INSURANCE
Marshfield Clinic will provide insurance for work upon arrival and inspection, until release of work to return shipper.
