Philanthropic support of Marshfield Clinic was very strong in 2010. Thanks to the generosity of individuals, businesses, foundations, event attendees and volunteers organizing fundraisers on behalf of the Clinic, many great things are happening in patient care, research and education.
The need for your financial assistance is as important as ever. Every day we learn of programs in need at Marshfield Clinic. There are many ways to offer your support. Some ideas to consider in 2011 include:
Attend an event. We have many events throughout the year, from golf outings to banquets, wine tastings to dueling pianos.Organize a fundraiser. We are so grateful for the wonderful individuals, businesses, clubs, sports teams, etc. who raise funds to benefit Marshfield Clinic through their creative efforts.Make a cash contribution to support research, education or patient care. An envelope is provided.Honor your family members, friends, coworkers, etc with a gift to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, wedding or other special event. Honorees are listed in BenchMarks, as well as notified of your kind act. (See pages 16-17)Memorialize family or friends with gifts to support oncology or cardiology research or to support any of our patient care funds. Perhaps you have stock that has appreciated in value. Avoid paying capital gains taxes and receive a charitable deduction by donating your stock to Marshfield Clinic.Over age 60 and looking for more income? Cashing in a CD or money market fund with a low rate of return for a charitable gift annuity with Marshfield Clinic may be the answer. Call us or visit our website; we can help.Over age 70 1/2 and don't need the income from your IRA? In 2011, you can make a gift directly from your IRA to Marshfield Clinic and not have to report the amount as income. The gifted amount also counts toward your 2011 required minimum distribution.Start an endowment to support research, education or patient care needs.
