 Child Life Practicum

Welcome to our Child Life & Expressive Therapies practicum opportunities. Practicum is an introduction for college students interested in the Child Life profession.

We have an affiliation established with Edgewood College and will only be accepting Edgewood students for the winter practicum. We are also in the process of establishing an affiliation with the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point for the fall and spring semesters.

We are not currently accepting any other practicum applications at this time.

What to expect in Child Life Practicum

As a practicum student, you'll take on a number of responsibilities. Tasks range from assigned readings to observation and completing developmental assessments to providing weekly activity plans.

We expect practicum students to become familiar with hospital and clinic settings. Our Child Life & Expressive Therapies manager, with the help of our Certified Child Life Specialists (CCLS), guide you in enhancing professional development, navigating medical charts and understanding daily responsibilities of a CCLS.

At the end of your practicum, you'll complete a self-reflective evaluation paper. During this time, we ask you to reflect on your experience and provide feedback.
