 Child/Adolescent and Pediatric Psychology Fellowship

A Message from the Psychology Fellowship Director

Thank you for exploring our Post-Doctoral Psychology Fellowships. Our current first year fellows have chosen to do a second year of fellowship with us so the start date for our next new fellows will not be until September 1, 2022. We will begin recruiting for the child/adolescent and pediatric psychology fellowship positions in Fall 2021.

The Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) is a unique training environment where fellows benefit from learning in a large tertiary care medical center (one of the largest non-profit medical centers in the U.S.) with a clear sense of community that is supportive to both patients and staff.

You will benefit from your training here, but you will soon recognize that your activities also benefit the patients and families you care for as part of the medical center’s mission for exemplary patient care, education and research. Of course you might expect the program director to say this, but please check out the short videos by our recent fellows as they describe their training by visiting the links seen on the Pediatric Fellowship page and the Child/Adolescent Fellowship page.

Please see our outcome data to see why we believe a psychology fellowship at Marshfield will help you stand with distinction as you enter your career.

MCHS is a comprehensive state-of-the-art medical complex that offers:

  • There are over 700 physicians in the entire MCHS in more than 80 specialties and subspecialties: this includes well over 300 physician specialists. Please see the video here to learn about the founding and growth of our system of health care
  • A 292-bed tertiary hospital with an ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, a children's hospital designation by the National Association of Children's Hospitals (NACH), certification as a Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center, accreditation as a comprehensive center under the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) and Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) accreditation.
  • The largest private medical research institute in Wisconsin with over 400 active research projects.
  • Extensive integrated computer technologies, including a state of the art medical electronic record, electronic prescribing, PACS image archive, electronic lab results, innovative  early childhood immunization registry, digital echocardiography network and  telemedicine.
  • Today, MCHS provides service to more than two million Wisconsin residents with over 50 health care centers, a health care plan, an information services company and four hospitals. Here is an example of what we've been up to in the last year.

We invite you to see our outstanding facilities and explore the Marshfield community firsthand. See for yourself what makes this post-doctoral psychology fellowship opportunity special. In the meantime, here is a pictorial tour to introduce you to our medical center.

Do not hesitate to contact us for answers to questions not addressed on these Web pages.

If you are still considering the value to your career for doing a fellowship, please check this short APPIC article for information.
