Dr. Keenan prides himself on communicating well with patients and having them understand the plan for their treatment.
“Besides performing surgery, I really enjoy talking with the patients," he said. He was drawn to Marshfield Clinic Health System in 1989 by its strong multi-specialty aspect, and having everyone under one roof, unlike some other major medical centers.
“We've incorporated all of the new techniques and procedures here at the Marshfield Medical Center," he said. “Anything you want to have done surgically can be done here. The patient's well-being is our prime concern."
Dr. Keenan earned his medical degree at the University of South Florida College of Medicine Health Sciences in Tampa.
He completed his residency in orthopedics at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California.
He enjoys collecting military antiques, including firearms and clothing from the early 1900s through World War II, and Irish Army materials. He also enjoys cooking a variety of dishes. He and his wife have three children and two stepchildren.
