An occupational nurse practitioner with nearly two decades of experience has joined the Marshfield Clinic Rice Lake Center. Elizabeth Schroeder started her job in July. In her new role, she is working with businesses to keep employees healthy and to minimize work related injuries.
Schroeder received her undergraduate degree in nursing in 1985 from the University of West Florida, in Pensacola, FL. She earned her master’s degree in nursing in 1995 from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. She also has a post master’s certificate that was awarded in 2003 from Concordia University in Mequon, WI.
Schroeder is very familiar with northern Wisconsin. She worked as an RN at Wausau Hospital and at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, WI. Since becoming a nurse practitioner, she saw patients at the Rhinelander VA, a Minocqua walk in clinic, and for Overland Transportation Service, based in Wausau. Most recently, Schroeder has been employed at Indian Health Service Clinic in Sisseton, SD.
She welcomes a return to Wisconsin. “Green trees, blue lakes, tall trees, and soothing breezes are some of the reasons I am excited to call Wisconsin home,” she said. “Add all that to the efficient, kind and professional people I have met or spoken to at many of the Marshfield Clinic centers and you know why I am thrilled to be home and working at Marshfield Clinic Rice Lake Center.”
Schroeder is based at Rice Lake Center, but will handle on a regional basis all occupational health issues that arise in northwest Wisconsin. She plans to tour Rice Lake area businesses in the coming weeks and months.
