Marshfield Clinic, which has had a strong working relationship for 22 years with Concert Health Resources, has strengthened its commitment to improving employee health with the recent purchase of the Kaukauna-based wellness company.
Concert Health Resources performs onsite employee biometric tests at businesses throughout northeastern Wisconsin and in 30 states. They use results from employee health screens and biometric tests to provide employee-focused health coaching. Concert Health Resources’ health screenings are customized to individuals and their companies.
Marshfield Labs has processed Concert Health Resources’ lab panels since shortly after Dr. John Butitta and Virginia Schuller-Rach co-founded the company in 1992.
“Concert Health Resources has been an outstanding partner for Marshfield Clinic for more than two decades,” said Pam Carter, Marshfield Labs administrative director. “The purchase allows Concert Health Resources to have greater opportunities and offer even more flexibility for the companies and individuals they serve. The Clinic and Concert Health Resources collaboration continues this strong history of helping improve health in the communities we serve.”
Concert Health Resources has two employees. Butitta is an internal medicine physician and nutritionist and Schuller-Rach is a nurse. They formed the company to address demand by companies for wellness programs. Now that demand has evolved to include more year-round services.
“We want to extend our services and offer medical options throughout year, such as mobile mammography, occupational health and telehealth offered through Marshfield Clinic,” Butitta said.
In addition to wellness, Concert Health Resources also provides advocacy and change assistance. Its advocacy services include helping employees understand their benefits; finding providers in their health network; and resolving medical insurance claim and billing disputes. Concert Health Resources also works with individuals to review their health results to set up an action plan for healthy lifestyle changes.
“There is a lot of synergy between the two organizations and we expect this to be a seamless transition for our clients,” Schuller-Rach said. “We look forward to providing new services for our clients and we will continue to provide the same high quality customer service as we’ve always had.”
Concert Health Resources will become a service of Marshfield Clinic, which is part of Marshfield Clinic Health System whose entities also include Security Health Plan of Wisconsin, Inc., Marshfield Clinic Information Services, Inc., Lakeview Medical Center, Inc., and co-sponsorship of Flambeau Hospital.
“Concert Health Resources takes a hands-on approach to helping individuals make healthy choices in life and a liaison when they have health insurance challenges,” said Ken Heffron, Marshfield Clinic’s East District administrator. “They have a reputation as a go-to organization when it comes to wellness programs.”
Marshfield Clinic provides patient care, research and education with more than 50 locations in northern, central and western Wisconsin, making it one of the largest comprehensive medical systems in the United States.
