Three major Eau Claire hospital systems join hands with the Wisconsin Comprehensive Cancer Control Program and the Wisconsin Cancer Council to host the 2016 WI Survivorship Forum: "Life in Balance," an event dedicated to cancer survivors and their families. Marshfield Clinic, Mayo Clinic Health System and HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital are major sponsors of this event to be held on June 8, 2016 at The Florian Gardens Conference Center at 2340 Lorch Avenue, Eau Claire, WI 54701.
The Survivorship Forum is a free day of learning, sharing and networking where cancer survivors, caregivers and providers have an equal voice to listen and dialogue together. 2016 is the first time the Survivorship Forum will be held in the Eau Claire area. Topics include: Mindfulness, Cancer and Employment, Sexual Health, Caring for the Caregiver and Cancer and fitness. The healing power of humor will be the focus for Keynote Speaker, Scott Burton, a cancer survivor, stand-up comedian, world-class juggler and the author of "A Life in Balance".
The Survivorship Forum is FREE, open to the public, and includes breakfast and lunch.
Registration is required by June 5, 2016 to attend. To register, visit www.wicancer.org. Continuing education credits will be offered.
June 5th is National Survivorship Day. Activities, including the Survivorship Forum, will be held in many locations around the state to honor cancer survivors.
