Dr. Gavin Ambrosi joined Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center's general surgery department at the end of August.
Ambrosi completed his bachelor of science degree in biochemistry from the University of Detroit Mercy, Detroit, Michigan, and his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan. He then completed his general surgery residency at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan.
"Although Minocqua is a small town, the Clinic has – and is building - the facilities to provide advanced, excellent health care for patients in a large geographic area," he said.
Ambrosi's professional interests encompass a full range of general surgery procedures including laparoscopic and robotic techniques utilizing the daVinci surgical system, which will be part of the new Marshfield Medical Center – Minocqua hospital. He enjoys the breadth of general surgery allowing him to take care of patients with both acute and chronic surgical issues throughout their lives.
"I believe quality communication is essential among the health care team. I want to work with patients and the entire health care team to provide the best care and outcomes for our patients. Communication and understanding are key to the shared decision making process. The patient always comes first. I want to ensure my patients understand the treatment process and know that together we are making the best decision for their treatment," said Ambrosi.
