Cancer doesn’t stop. Because of you, neither do we

Support the urgent need for cancer patient lodging

Because Marshfield Clinic Health System serves rural Wisconsin communities, many cancer patients have to travel hours each way to receive care. For those who are already under financial strain, the cost of traveling far from home for treatment can be overwhelming. COVID-19 has added to the financial burden on these families.

Since the American Cancer Society closed the Hope Lodge in Marshfield, which provided free lodging for cancer patients in need, many families are now left with an uncertain future. More than 15 families have already delayed care. Marshfield Clinic Health System has repurposed a different facility to take the place of the Hope Lodge to support patients during this difficult time, but it is in need of important upgrades.

That’s why we’ve established an emergency cancer patient lodging fund so that cancer patients can get the care they need without worrying about how they will afford a place to stay. Your support is helping to fill this critical need so that families can focus on battling cancer:

  • Refurbishing the new cancer lodging space in Marshfield, including new flooring, furniture, TVs and more to create a healing environment for families.
  • Supporting a house manager to help families coming to stay get the information and care they need.

There is an urgent and immediate need for lodging for cancer patients, and you can help. Thank you for giving new hope to brave people fighting cancer.
